The 23rd specialized international exhibition of the electricity industry and the first festival and technology market of the electricity industry were held for four days from 14 to 17 November in a space of 54,000 square meters at the permanent location of Tehran International Exhibitions. The event was attended by “Ali Akbar Mehrabian”, the respected Minister of Energy, and other deputies and officials of the country’s electricity industry.
The Vira Kavir Data Mining Company also actively participated in this exhibition this year, once again confirming the capabilities of university elites in the industry. This company presented two practical products in the field of control, supervision, and maintenance.
The first technological product is the “AFTL”, which automatically detects faults in power transmission and distribution lines. In this system, a database consisting of all types of defects has been prepared using high-resolution color drone image identification by the specialized software of “Vira Label”, and it has been used for training using a special detector based on deep learning. The system in question can automatically detect electrical and mechanical errors (such as arcing and breakage of insulators, shortness of spiel connections, rust, conductor errors, loosening of bolts and nuts, rotting, chipping, and cracking).
The second product is Hila, a domestic specialized drone for the automatic monitoring of power transmission lines, which is designed and built according to the needs of the electricity industry in the field of monitoring transmission and super distribution lines. This UAV has a navigation capability based on image processing and deep learning, allowing the user to navigate without a global positioning system. Also, with the possibility of installing different cameras, the drone can be prepared to perform different missions during the day and night.
The mentioned products were highly appreciated by the industrial visitors, especially the regional power companies of the country.
Also, during the exhibition, Mr. Allah Dad, Vice President of Transfer and Foreign Trade, Tavanir, and managers of the research office of electric companies visited the Wira Kavir booth.
According to the Ministry of Energy Information Portal (Pavan), at the same time as the closing ceremony of the 23rd International Electricity Industry Exhibition and the first specialized festival and technology market of Iran’s electrical industry, with the presence of Deputy Minister of Energy Maryam Kargar Najafi and other officials present at the exhibition and Electrical industry festival was introduced and appreciated. The jury of the first festival and fan market of the electrical industry, in the electric energy transmission section, while recognizing the technological product “Drone visit of electrified high-voltage lines (multi-rotor and vertical flight aircraft)” presented by Asman Farid Developers Company (Tadaf); awarded the best plaque to the technological product “Automatic Fault Detection of Power Transmission Lines (AFTL)” provided by Vera Deep Desert Data Mining Company.
